Tuesday 20 July 1999 : Evidence from London via Video Link.
The jury in the Scott Watson murder trial returned to the Wellington High Court today after a four-day break. They are hearing evidence from abroad via a video link.
The six witnesses, who are now residing in the UK and Australia, are giving evidence as to what they saw and heard whilst being at Furneaux Lodge for the New Year celebrations.
The court heard testimony from Janine Morrison and Andrew Bailey who are both now living in London. The pair were in a group that was waiting at the jetty of Furneaux Lodge for a ride to the nearby resort where they were camping. Whilst on the jetty a man was bothering two of the women in the group. They said the man appeared friendly at first but had become suggestive, rude and invaded the women's personal space.
Andrew Bailey identified Scott Watson as the man on the jetty that night by identifying him out of a group pf photographs police had shown him, while Ms Morrison identified Watson from a TV news item.
