Thurs 2nd Sep - Media excluded as jury view yacht
The media has been excluded as the jury in the Scott Watson murder trial view the accused's yacht for the second time.
Watson's sloop, Blade, is now in Wellington harbour after being taken there from its mooring in the Marlborough Sounds earlier this week.
The defence has completed presenting its witnesses after three days of evidence focusing mainly on sightings of ketches after a former water taxi driver said he dropped Ben Smart and Olivia Hope off at a double-masted ketch when they were last seen.
An inflatable naiad boat belonging to Furneaux Lodge is also tied up alongside Blade.
Trial judge, Justice Heron, told the jury this morning, that they could examine how the forward hatch of the vessel opens and closes.
Crown witnesses have suggested 176 scratch marks found on the hatch's lining were made by fingernails.
