Policeman's thoughts with Ben & Olivia's parents
The police officer who headed the Ben Smart/Olivia Hope inquiry says his thoughts are with the pair's families, following the setting of a 17 year minimum non-parole period for convicted murderer Scott Watson.
Detective Inspector Rob Pope says any public reminder of the friends' tragic deaths is very hard.
He says the case still has several unresolved aspects - including Watson's appeal against his convictions.

The judge who imposed Watson's sentence, says the chances of him ever being released are remote.
