Things in common people addicted to drugs sometimes have
The following is a list of attributes the drug user may exhibit:
They have a poor self image, low self esteem, and lack confidence.
They have not been cared for. They come from families who neglected them, paid them little personal attention.
They have a poor relationship with their parents.
They are not well-educated, not good at reading, pretend they know and understand more than they actually do.
They suffered some sort of emotional trauma in their early life. That could be physical, emotional, verbal or sexual abuse. Or maybe they were deprived of proper family relationships, involving separation, fostering or adoption.
They were unable to relate to authority figures and try to fight them. They expect people in authority to be abusive, to make unreal demands.
They modeled their addictions on the habits of their parents.
They may have a pre-disposition for substance abuse.
They come from all sorts of backgrounds, rich and poor, and all ages.
