Margaret Bain
Margaret Arawa Bain (nee Cullen) born 11 October 1943
As a young wife and mother Margaret went with her husband Robin to one of the world’s most dangerous countries, Papua New Guinea and remained there for 15 years. An educated and talented person, she was warm and caring to family in those early years. Obviously a complex person, perhaps influenced by the isolation and primal environment or by a need to extend herself in her own right, Margaret merged with community groups and experimented with homeopathy and progressed into the occult.
Although the children were allowed to run wild and free, her friends said she had deep spiritual concern for them and she strove in her own way to keep them together in the later, more difficult years.
